Long Island Homes is a new home builder based at Point Cook, building single and double storey homes across Melbourne and Geelong. The business has been building for over 20 years and works on fixed price contracts, with its inclusions built into the price rather than sold as upgrades.

Home ranges

  • Islander Black
  • Islander Reserve
  • Altitude

Designs run single and double storey, and can be filtered by bedrooms, bathrooms and garage spaces on the Long Island Homes website. There is a separate facade range, and a Hamptons style line within the display home offering.

Knock down rebuild

If you like where you live but not the house on it, Long Island Homes runs a knock down rebuild service, so you can build a new home on the block you already own.

Display homes you can walk through

  • Tarneit, at Alamora Estate
  • Aintree, at Woodlea Estate, Rockbank
  • Mt Duneed, at Armstrong Estate, near Geelong

Virtual tours of the display homes are also available on their website if you cannot get to a centre.

How a build runs

Five stages. Strategy and site review, where the land and the design are assessed together. Design and fixed pricing, where the floorplan and selections are locked in and the price is documented. Pre-construction, covering permits, engineering, scheduling and materials. Construction, overseen by a site supervisor from base to completion. Then handover, after an inspection against the builder’s own standards.

Where we build

As far north as Craigieburn, south-west through to Torquay, west to Bacchus Marsh and east up to the Hume Highway. That takes in most of metropolitan Melbourne, the western growth corridor and Geelong.

Contact and hours

Head office at 10 Wallace Avenue, Point Cook VIC. Office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Display centres keep their own hours.

Common questions

Do you build in Geelong as well as Melbourne?

Yes. The build area runs south-west to Torquay and there is a display home at Mt Duneed in Armstrong Estate, near Geelong.

Can I knock down my existing house and rebuild on the same block?

Yes. Knock down rebuild is one of the services offered, so you can stay in your suburb and put a new home on your existing land.

Is the price fixed, or does it move during the build?

Long Island Homes works to fixed pricing. The floorplan, selections and inclusions are finalised at the design stage and documented before construction starts.

Can I look through a home before I commit?

Yes. There are display centres at Tarneit in Alamora Estate, Aintree in Woodlea Estate and Mt Duneed in Armstrong Estate. Virtual tours are on the website if you cannot visit in person.

Do you build double storey homes?

Yes. Both single and double storey designs are available across the Islander and Altitude ranges.

How far north and west do you build?

As far north as Craigieburn and as far west as Bacchus Marsh, with the eastern boundary at the Hume Highway.

How do I start a conversation about a build?

Send an enquiry through this page or call 1800 60 40 11. Tell them whether you have land already, roughly how many bedrooms you need and which area you are building in.
