These terms cover your use of Soho’s (sohos.com.au), whether you’re looking for a local business or listing your own. By using the site you agree to them. Questions go to [email protected].
You must be 18 or over to create an account or buy a plan.
What Soho’s is
Soho’s is a directory of local Australian businesses. We help customers find a business and get in touch. We don’t provide the services listed, and we’re not a party to any agreement between a customer and a business. Quotes, work, payment for the work and warranties are between you and the business.
We check listings, but we can’t guarantee a business’s work, prices, licences or availability. Please do your own checks before you hire anyone.
Using Soho’s as a customer
- Searching and contacting businesses is free.
- When you send an enquiry, it goes to the one business you chose. We don’t pass it to competitors or sell it on.
- Bookings made through a listing are between you and that business. Soho’s doesn’t charge a booking fee or commission.
- Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and free of abuse, personal information and anything defamatory. We may remove a review that breaks these rules.
Listing a business
Soho’s is for small, local Australian businesses. We don’t accept listings for medium or large businesses, businesses based overseas, or adult, gambling, smoking or vaping businesses. We may decline, unpublish or remove any listing that doesn’t fit, at our discretion.
When you list a business, you confirm that:
- you own the business or are authorised to list it
- everything in the listing is true and up to date, including your ABN
- you have the right to use the photos, logos and text you upload
- you hold any licences and insurance your work legally requires
To keep the directory consistent and easy to use, we may edit listings. For example, we may:
- change the title to the business’s trading name
- show only the suburb and state on listing cards
- darken a logo so it shows clearly
- replace an image that contains text or advertising with a photo that represents the type of work you do
You can update or remove your listing from your dashboard at any time.
The Verified badge
We award the Verified badge when a listing’s ABN is active on the Australian Business Register and matches the business name. We may also ask for a licence, insurance certificate or accreditation. The badge means we’ve checked those details. It isn’t a recommendation or a guarantee of your work. We may remove it if the details change or turn out to be wrong.
Plans and payments
- Free: $0. Business profile, service area, map, enquiry form, bookings and reviews. A free listing runs for a year and renews free.
- Verified: $99 a year. Adds the Verified badge, your phone number and website shown to every visitor, and up to 10 photos.
- Growth: $360 a year. Adds featured placement above free listings, coupons, listing copy written for you and up to 3 listings.
- Managed: $1,080 a year. Adds a monthly content pack, quarterly optimisation and review calls, and up to 12 listings.
Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST. Paid plans are paid upfront and run for 365 days from purchase. They don’t renew automatically, there’s no lock-in, and you can drop back to Free at any time. We never charge per enquiry or per lead.
On Free listings, your phone number and website are shown to signed-in visitors only. On paid plans they’re shown to everyone.
We may change plan prices or features. Any change applies from your next purchase, not to a term you’ve already paid for.
Refunds
If you ask within 14 days of purchase, and your listing hasn’t yet been featured or verified under that plan, we’ll give you a full refund. After that we don’t refund the unused part of a term, and your listing stays live until the end of its 365 days. Free listings have nothing to refund. To ask for a refund, email [email protected]. Full details are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give Soho’s a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, resize, edit and promote that content on sohos.com.au and in our marketing (for example, our social media and newsletters) while your listing is live.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Soho’s to:
- post anything false, misleading, unlawful or offensive
- send spam
- scrape the directory
- impersonate another business
- try to break or overload the site
We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Our responsibility to you

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from dealings between customers and businesses. Where our liability can’t be excluded, it’s limited to supplying the service again, or refunding what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
You agree to cover any loss we suffer because you broke these terms or because of content you posted.
Intellectual property
The Soho’s name, logo, design and site content (other than content that users upload) belong to Soho’s. Please don’t copy them without our permission.
