Affordable Cremations NSW is a family owned and operated funeral business run by farewell director Stephanie Kelly and her family, with offices in Heathcote and Canterbury. It specialises in direct cremation, with no service and no attendance, for families in Sydney, Wollongong and the rest of New South Wales.

Direct cremation

A direct cremation costs a fixed $2,650. The price covers:

• Care and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Transfer into care within Sydney or Wollongong, including after hours, weekends and public holidays
• Medical and cremation certificates
• A standard size cremation coffin
• Cremation at Macquarie Park Crematorium or Woronora Memorial Park
• Registration and the death certificate from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
• Basic mortuary care and professional fees
• Collection of the ashes from the Heathcote or Canterbury office

Extra fees apply for transfers from outside Sydney and Wollongong and for other crematoriums.

Other arrangements

• Cremation with a memorial service, priced separately
• Prepaid funerals, so the cost can be paid in advance

What is a direct cremation?

A direct cremation has no funeral service and no one attends the cremation. The ashes are then returned to the family.

Do I need to visit an office to arrange a cremation?

No. Arrangements can be made over the phone or by email. You can also meet the team in person at the Heathcote or Canterbury office.

Which areas do they cover?

The business serves Sydney, including the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Greater Western Sydney, the Sutherland Shire and St George, plus the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra, Wollongong and country NSW. Transfers from outside Sydney and Wollongong cost extra.

Can I pay for a cremation in advance?

Yes. A prepaid funeral lets you pay ahead of time and spread the cost, so your family is not left with the expense later.

Do they cremate pets?

No. The business does not offer pet or animal cremation.
