Bougainvillea, also known as The Bay Club Resort, is a strata titled retirement village on Waters Road in Neutral Bay on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. It offers independent living and serviced apartments, and the village has been managed by the same family since 1988 rather than by a large chain or corporation.
Residents choose between independent living apartments and serviced apartments. Serviced apartment residents receive a set range of services as part of their arrangement, while independent residents can add services such as meals, apartment cleaning and laundry on a user pays basis. The village is staffed around the clock every day of the year.
The social calendar can include village dinners, happy hour, morning teas, outings on the village bus, yoga, aqua aerobics, art appreciation, a singing group, movie nights, bingo, trivia and a monthly men’s social group. The village is within walking distance of Neutral Bay’s shops, cafes, medical centres and public transport.
The on-site sales office opens seven days. Reception hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 3pm on weekends. Call the sales office on (02) 9953 5741 to make an appointment, or reception on (02) 9953 9214.
Bougainvillea has independent living apartments and serviced apartments, all strata titled. Prices vary with size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, condition and position.
The village lists the initial purchase price, quarterly recurrent charges, quarterly strata levies and a departure fee as the main costs. Serviced apartment residents pay a higher quarterly fee than independent residents.
The dining room serves lunch and dinner, with meals cooked on site. Residents can dine in, collect a meal or request delivery to their apartment, and guests are welcome.
