Lioness Photography is a boudoir and portrait studio in St Peters, in Sydney’s Inner West, run by photographer Nikki McLennan. Sessions cover boudoir, pole, couples, bridal and maternity portraits, and the studio also photographs events across the greater Sydney metropolitan area.

The studio

• Upstairs in the Aerie at Tortuga Studios, St Peters
• About 10 minutes from central Sydney, 5 minutes from Newtown and 20 minutes from the airport
• Colourful backdrops and a brass spinning pole on site

Finished work

Images can be taken as digital files or as printed pieces. Album samples, boutique boxes and frames are available to look at when deciding how a set is presented.

Common questions

Do I need experience in front of a camera?

No. Every session starts with a phone planning consultation and a preparation guide, and posing is directed on the day. Clients fill in a questionnaire and share reference images beforehand, so the shoot is planned around what they want from it.

Is hair and makeup included?

Yes, hair and makeup form part of a session and are done by the artists the studio works with. Styling and wardrobe are covered in the planning call, so those decisions are settled before the shoot day.

Can I book a pole or dance shoot?

Yes. The St Peters studio has a brass spinning pole and colourful backdrops set up for pole and dance portraits. The studio also photographs pole events and studio showcases, including the Australian Pole Art Championships and Pole Icon Australia.

How are the final photographs delivered?

Retouching is done professionally, and the colour or black and white treatment, cropping and shadow work are discussed with you first. Digital images are available, as are albums, boutique boxes and frames.
