Lockyersleigh is a historic farm at Brayton, 25 km north of Goulburn in the NSW Southern Tablelands, available to hire as a location for film, TV and photo shoots. The property covers close to 10,000 acres and centres on a two storey homestead begun in 1827, with a seven acre garden, bluestone farm buildings and open pastureland. It suits productions of any size, and accommodation and catering can be arranged for crews.
Previous shoots have used the woolshed, horse carriages, gardens and homestead, and some of the people who work on the property. Apart from a modern sunroom at the back, the homestead looks much as it did 150 years ago. Lockyersleigh is also a working farm run by the Onions family, descendants of the Ranken family who have owned it since 1856. It produces Angus cattle, first cross lambs, merino wool and grain, and offers rural consultancy.
It is about 190 km from Sydney, roughly two hours by road, and about an hour from Canberra. The property is 10 km off the Hume Highway, and the entrance drive is 2 km long.
From Sydney, take the Marulan exit off the Hume Highway, then Brayton Road and Carrick Road. From Goulburn, head north about 11 km on the Hume Highway and take the Carrick and Brayton road, which becomes a dirt road, for 12 km. Train travel is available to Goulburn, which also has an airport for small commercial planes.
Yes. Lockyersleigh can provide accommodation and catering for crews.
Past shoots have used the homestead, the gardens, the woolshed and the horse carriages. With the property’s size, a production can be as large or small as the job requires.
