Paws Plus Consulting is a force-free dog training business in the Sutherland Shire, founded by head trainer Ally Piper. Ally is a graduate of the Victoria Stilwell Academy of Dog Training, a CPDT-KA Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a qualified veterinary nurse, with more than 30 years in animal care and 26 years running puppy preschool classes. Group classes are held at the IPET Store in Kirrawee, and private sessions are offered in homes across the Sutherland Shire and Southern Sydney.
Training uses positive reinforcement, games and play, and avoids intimidation, physical punishment and fear. Puppy Preschool covers the basic behaviours along with sleeping, biting, chewing, toilet training, overarousal and reading other dogs’ body language. Group classes run six days a week, including weeknights from 6:30pm and Saturdays.
Puppies can join in-person classes from nine weeks of age, as long as they had their first vaccination at least a week before the first class. A week at home to settle in first is recommended.

The trainer visits your home to observe your dog in its usual environment, looks at routine, lifestyle and emotional needs, and gives you a tailored training plan. It suits dogs that are anxious, overstimulated in groups or have specific behaviour concerns.
Class times can be viewed and booked online through the website. You can also call 0410 667 414 or email [email protected].
