YesMandarin is a Mandarin school in Haymarket, in Sydney’s Chinatown, run by founder and lead teacher Felicity Cao. It teaches adults face to face in small groups and private lessons, with a conversation-first approach that has students speaking from their first class.
Felicity is from northern China and holds a Putonghua Level 1-B certificate. She has more than six years of teaching experience and a background in early childhood education. Her lessons focus on pronunciation, tones and natural conversation, alongside characters, grammar and Chinese culture.
The Haymarket studio at 202A/368 Sussex Street is about five minutes from Town Hall station and is open seven days a week, 9am to 9pm, with morning, afternoon and evening sessions. New students start with a free 30-minute private trial class that includes a level assessment and a personalised learning plan. Call 0414 163 003 or email [email protected].
It is a 30-minute one-on-one session with Felicity, who assesses your level, starts some speaking practice and maps out a learning plan.
Group classes put you with a few other adult learners for conversation practice, while private lessons are fully tailored to your goals and schedule.
Classes are held face to face at the YesMandarin studio at 202A/368 Sussex Street, Haymarket.
